Systematic Desensitisation is a technique employed in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to treat a variety of phobias and anxiety disorders. The subject is repeatedly exposed to the same problematic stimuli in order to build up a resistance. I used this method to conquer the fears of leaving my house and interacting with other people.
I set myself the task of facing the anxiety at least once a day for four weeks. Every day before leaving the house I would pose for a self portrait. Each photograph depicts seven days through multiple exposure. Printed on old Bulgarian paper stock, resulting in the degradation of image quality. 2014
